DIY bread board
Have you seen all the bread boards and cutting boards layered in kitchen’s on Pinterest?
I love the look that the wood brings into the kitchen and is also practical. My husband made me some decorative ones out of an old church pew. He has a ton of tools and his favorite lately has been the planar. He can take a rough cut of wood and run it through that machine a few times and it turns out to a beautiful piece of wood. Some of them, he has glued different types of wood together and then planes it down.
He bought a plastic cutting board from the dollar tree to use as a template.
He clamped the board down and took the jigsaw and cut out where he had traced.
I used beeswax to seal the wood to make it food safe. You can find some on my website here. https://leah-shea-interiors.myshopify.com/admin/products/3785348743232
This is how I styled mine with my rods from Ikea. They are perfect for modern farmhouse decorating. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/fintorp-rail-black-50201906/
