Have you every seen these ugly stools at the thrift store? I had some extra ticking stripe fabric left over from another project and grabbed this little stool for $1. It was a really pretty navy stripe that I love. There is nothing more farmhouse than a ticking stripe.
So I took off the legs off the stool and painted them in white. I grabbed the ticking stripe, batting and cleaned up the leather on this old stool. I layered the batting and then the stripe…leaving about 2″ all the way around. I tucked and stapled all the way around keeping it tight and not letting it bunch up.

I sanded these little legs down and painted them with white Fusion mineral paint.

How much cuter did this piece turn out? So next time grab that $1 thrift store stool.
