canvas wall decor
For some reason wall art that I like is difficult for me to find, so when I saw the Proverbs 4:23 scripture canvas I had to have it. It came with tacks so I can hang directly in wall but thought it was too plain. So I grabbed a few supplies to take it up a little. This is a super easy DIY that you can adapt to something store bought.
Supplies
- printed canvas
- scrap wood pieces
- wood beads in 20mm
- hemp string
- tacks
I flipped over the canvas and attached to the wood pieces. Making sure that it was lined up and was centered. I was careful not to cover up my words on the front.
I simply took a bead of hot glue and then went back and tacked it onto the wood. I did this for the top strip of wood and the bottom. The wood bead hanger I used beads from Amazon in a 20mm and hemp string from Walmart. The same that was in this wood bead garland project here.
I just made a loop and tied on both ends to secure the beads and then hot glued and stapled them to the strip of wood. It holds it well but you could always use another small tack. The piece is very light. Here’s what it looks like after I had it assembled.
I hope that you enjoyed this project! You can see how easy it was to take something and some embellishments to it.
